The results of the study “The Impact of International Platforms on Romanian E-Commerce” show that seven out of ten Romanian companies expect their retail business to be affected by the unfair competition posed by platforms such as Temu and Shein. Small producers warn that, under these circumstances, they are at serious risk of bankruptcy.
In this context:
• 77% of Romanian companies expect their commercial activity to be impacted over the next 12 months, mainly due to declining sales caused by international platforms;
• 73% of respondents anticipate a drop in profits;
• 43% have already confirmed a decrease in the number of customers.
The study was conducted for ARMO (the Romanian Online Stores Association) using the CATI method, between April 28 and May 13, on a sample of 511 companies. More details HERE.
